Lieutenant Colonel Donald K. Wimp enlisted in 1985 as a Bulk Fuel Engineer before earning his commission in 1990. After attending basic and advanced flight training, he earned the MOS of 7556 (Transport Plane Co-Pilot) in the KC-130 Hercules platform. During his 20 years of active service he filled aviation roles as Transport Plane Commander, Lead Instructor Pilot (KC-130 & UC-12), and Operations Officer. He also filled several staff positions at the battalion, division, group, and wing level. LtCol Wimp was assigned to the Command and General Staff College where he taught Joint Professional Military Education I to Field Grade officers from all U.S. services and U.S. allies. He assumed his current position in July of 2013.
